VICTOR BUONO - A Tribute To The Actor

Today is a special day in Bat-History! Actor Victor Buono was born on February 3rd, 1938. Most Batman Fans know him as the Villain, KING TUT, on the 1966 BATMAN Television Series. Later, his KING TUT character made an appearance on the recent BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD cartoon, sort of like an homage, it was pretty cool!



Victor Buono made his very 1st Network TV acting appearance playing a bearded Beatnik named "Bongo Benny" on the 77 SUNSET STRIP series. After many other TV appearances, on various programs, he landed the role of "Edwin Flagg" in a major motion picture, "Who Killed Baby Jane?". He starred opposite 2 extremely talented Actresses, Betty Davis and Joan Crawford. For his role in this movie he was nominated for an Oscar! Over the next 8 or so years he appeared in many other movies. One of my favorites was the 1970's "Beneath The Planet of The Apes".



He then went on to doing many different appearances on various TV Shows of the 70's. Sadly, he died very young at the age of only 43 on January 1st, 1982. He was known to be extremely generous and is missed by many the world over.

Happy Birthday Christian Bale!

According to our Bat-Blog History Files today is a very special day! Christian Charles Philip Bale was born on January 30th, 1974. He was raised in England & had his 1st film role at the age of 13. He was in Steven Spielberg's 1987 movie, Empire of The Sun. He played a lost English Boy who, separated from his Parents, grew-up in a Japanese Internment Camp during World War II. Later, he had one of his 1st most iconic roles playing the Serial Killer Patrick Bateman in the 2000 movie, American Psycho! Then, of course, starting with Christopher Nolan's 2005 BATMAN BEGINS, he has been the most recent Actor to play Bruce Wayne/Batman. We all look forward to seeing him in THE DARK KNIGHT RISES! Our friend from KROQ Radio, Ralph Garman, is going to be hosting an "Inside The Actor's Studio" style interview that will last for 2 hours, they will talk about Adam's life and long career. On Saturday, January 28th, 2012, Our friend from KROQ Radio, Ralph Garman, is going to be hosting an "Inside The Actor's Studio" style evening with the one and only Adam West! For 2 hours, they will talk about Adam's life and long career, LIVE, on-stage at the Jon Lovitz Theatre in Los Angeles, CA.





This is part of the celebration for Adam West finally getting his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2012, and proceeds from the ticket sales will go toward the cost of the star. MTV SPLASH PAGE recently interviewed Actor Nestor Carbonell on his return role in the next Batman movie, THE DARK KNIGHT RISES. Of course, he will be playing "Gotham City Mayor, Anthony Garcia", like in the last film.
