Here's an anonymous, but very excellent, photo sent in by a Bat-Blog Fan who recently got some Bat-Ink done! This image of BATMAN is awesome and the Tattoo Artist did a great job with both the shading & colors.

Please scan your eyeballs across this amazing artwork! Awhile back I got a message from a Bat-Blog Fan who said he was painting a BATMAN TRIBUTE mural on his wall. I asked him to send some completed photos when he was finished, this is what I got! WOW! Robert, you did an incredible job on this... It looks great!! OK, now you can NEVER ever move. OK, I guess you could, but you would have to figure out how to remove that wall & take it with you, ha!
I instantly recognized the art that was used. It was the cover to Detective Comics #627, which was the 600th appearance of the Dark Knight in that title. So, DC Comics did a special "Anniversary" cover. I've shown it here as an example & you can see what a great job Robert did on this. ( Thanks for sharing your pics Rob! ). OK, if any other Bat-Blog Readers do anything creative, anything, then please send us some pics too.

I have some very sad news to share this morning. The Golden Age Comic Book Artist Sheldon Moldoff died last Wednesday, he was 91. In 1940 he created Hawkman for DC Comics and became a major Cover Artist for many very iconic comic books. His work was always amazing! In the 1950's he became Bob Kane's "Ghost Artist" ( with Kane, of course, taking all the credit ). He drew "Batman" from 1953 to 1967. He was responsible for creating many very iconic characters like Bat-Mite, Ace The Bat-Hound, Batwoman, and the Original Bat-Girl ( Betty Kane ). He also co-created Clayface, Poison Ivy, Dr. Achilles Milo, and Mr. Freeze.
To say that he was extremely important in "Bat-History" is no exaggeration. During his life he became a Cult Hero among Cartoonists, Animators, & other Comic Book Artists. In later life he was seen at a lot of Comic Book Conventions where he loved to meet his Fans. The artwork shown here are some of the Comicon Sketches he did. He will be missed & his contributions to both BATMAN and the Comic Book Industry are unlimited. I'm personally very sad about his passing and wish to extent my deepest condolences to his Friends and Family, "Shelly" will be missed, deeply. R.I.P. Sheldon "Shelly" Moldoff.
POW! ZAP! Check out this awesome ADAM WEST BATMAN TATTOO inked by "Bleedink Ink" in Grove City, Ohio. This photo was submitted by our Friend Frank who just got this artwork done showing the Dark Knight ( 1966 Batman TV Show ) doing The Batusi Dance! It's a great image, nice coloring, and also has a sense of humor. Nice choice Frank, do the Batusi!

Here are 2 amazing BATMAN Tattoo Photos we recently got that show some amazing artwork! The 1st one, done for our Friend Bob, is a special graphic showing 3 different Batman Bat-Symbol Logos, all in one! The design concept is unique and clever. Plus, it looks great! The 2nd one is very cool too. This is from our Friend Brian, who got this large Tattoo showing Batman and Robin in the 1966 George Barris Batmobile Car!! It's sharp and has great coloring/shading, nice!I wanna thank both Bob and Brian for sharing their fun pics. Hey Guys, these Bat-Masterpieces of ART look incredible, Thanks! If any other BAT-BLOG.COM Fans get any ink done then please send pics too!
Here's an interesting piece of Bat-History! The photo up above features an original drawing of the World Heavy Weight Boxer Jack Dempsey fighting in the ring with the Dark Knight himself, Batman - illustrated and signed by Batman "Creator", Bob Kane! The story goes that Bob Kane was enjoying a night out at Dempsey's Bar and drew this art piece for the famous Boxer, who was a fan of the Caped Crusader. A funny note, Kane may have been a little tipsy as he misspelled Dempsey's name on the title of the fight! The piece is signed by Bob Kane and inscribed to The Champ! The piece is framed at 24" X 33." This thing was sold on eBay recently and did pretty well.

A Friend on Facebook told me about this awesome website the other day where they posted some Comic Book Superhero Posters all done in an extreme Art Deco style, they're great! Here are a few of the BATMAN ones but they also have The Green Hornet, Ironman, X-Men, & a few others. You can check them out by clicking HERE! ( Thanks Jackie! )

The only word I could think of to describe today's post is "Extravaganza!", ha ha! We did one of our BATMAN TATTOO ART Posts yesterday and was shocked later to get, not one, but THREE messages from Bat-Blog Fans who have got some bat-ink done! They all sent some wonderful photos of their amazing Batman-themed Tattoos. So, let's check 'em out!The 1st one, in no particular order, was submitted by a friend named Ryan. It features both Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy done in a "Batman Animated Series" style. Just think "Bruce Timm" artwork. It also features the Classic Logo for THE JOKER. Next up is a photo sent to us by a Tattoo Artist named Trish. She told us she did this BATMAN BAT-SYMBOL LOGO for her Friend's Son. It's freakin' SWEEEET!!!Last, but not least, is this great pic from Victor. We kind of get 2 views of this large Tattoo that has both The Dark Knight AND Catwoman, Meow! I like the BATS Motif in the background, a nice touch. Wow! So thanks to everybody who sent us these cool photos, you people ROCK! We also want to extend invitations to everybody else who has had some ink done. Showcasing Batman Art and Creativity is just one of the many functions of this site. Thank You.

Right now, at the BEAR and BIRD Boutique and Gallery, they're having a Comic Book Art Exhibit titled "PROOF OF HEROES, The Julius Schwartz Printer’s Proof Cover Collection". The Art Gallery is located upstairs at TATES COMICS in Lauderhill, Florida. The show runs from January 20th to March 3rd, 2012.The basic concept: It's an art exhibition featuring nearly 300 comic book cover printer’s proofs, spanning a decade (1964-1974) of Julius Schwartz’ 42 year run as Editor at DC Comics.Julius Schwartz began working as an editor at DC Comics in 1944! During the 1950's and 60's, he oversaw the revival of superheroes such as the Flash, Green Lantern, Hawkman, the Batman, and the Atom, which led to the Silver Age of comic books. These one-of-a-kind Printer’s Proof’s were originally sent to Schwartz for his final approval, before their commercial print run. The covers feature artwork from such icons as Nick Cardy, Murphy Anderson, Neal Adams, Carmine Infantino, Mike Kaluta and many, many more! The proofs are being sold to benefit "The Hero Initiative", a great charity. I just got this really great BATMAN TATTOO ART Photo from a Friend over at Facebook. His name is TJ and he got some awesome INK done! Here's the classic yellow oval-shaped Batman Bat-Logo!! It's very well-drawn, plus the coloring is decent ( yellow is hard to fill-in as a solid color so that must have been real painful, ha! ). Thanks TJ for sharing this wonderful picture, your bat-tat looks GREAT! If any other Bat-Blog Fans out there get some ink done then please send us some pics too! Also, please remember, we celebrate art and creativity here in any form.

Right now, on the Los Angeles Times' HERO COMPLEX website , they are presenting BATMAN MOVIE CONCEPTS created by Writer Geoff Boucher and illustrated by Sean Hartter. You might remember Sean's artwork on this site ( yes, shameless plug ). Anyways, they are presenting 3 Fake Batman Movie Posters a day for 5 days, 15 total. Well, OK they're more like "Movie Theater Lobby Cards", but you get the idea. Now, here's a LINK to the 1st day & then once there you can follow all of them. They're pretty fun, the basic idea is "What if... certain Movie Directors made a fun Batman film and who would the Actors be?". The choices are pretty interesting.
OK, in my BAT-BLOG Bat-Folders, I have some pics that are kind of random so I thought I'd post them all as one big fun article. Hey, it's neat stuff so don't start cryin', ha ha! The 1st pic is a wonderful piece of Batman Art done by our Friend Troy Lowndes. It uses images of different Actors who have played the Caped Crusader: Adam West, Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer, and George Clooney. It's hilarious!
The next photo has a funny story. Our friend BatDave was told that a certain Video Game Arcade on the Boardwalk in NJ had a Vintage BATMAN MOVIE Pinball Machine. So, he gathered up the "Junior Bat-Squad" ( His Cute Nieces ) and ran over there. When they got there they found out it was the newer "Dark Knight" version. but, they all had fun playing the many different machines. Of course the Batman one was their favorite but they also loved Ironman & Spiderman!
The last 2 photos are just some very recent FAMILY GUY Batman-related T-Shirts that just came out. I love the one with Brian The Dog screaming, "I AM BATMAN!" The next one features the cast of the show as the Retro-1970's Super Friends! You can find these shirts right HERE!
Here's a wonderful example of some BATMAN GRAFFITI ART all the way from Germany! Yes, a BAT-BLOG Fan named Daniel was kind enough to send us this photo he took recently of an amazing Wall Mural of the Dark Knight he spotted on the front of a large Barn in a small German town. Oh man, it's so cool!! ( Danke Daniel! ) Hey, if any other readers notice any cool Artwork like this then please shoot us a pic!
Check out this extremely impressive fan-made THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Batman Movie Opening Credits (Intro) Video that a very talented Graphic Art Student, named Doğan Can Gündoğdu, made for a Digital Video Processing lesson at Bahcesehir University.

Over at Artist NEAL ADAMS Website ( NealAdams.Com ) they now have an EXCLUSIVE Sketchbook that you can only get there! I'm serious, they will not be selling this special book at Retail Stores or Comic Book Conventions! It's very limited to only 500 copies & once they're gone that's it! The book will also be signed and numbered. Plus, something cool is the price is pretty decent too, only $20.00. Now, I've been told that only 4 pages will be BATMAN related but there is also plenty of other great artworks to enjoy. The photo we show here, of the classic "Train Wreck" scene from BATMAN: ODYSSEY, is in there! This book ships around February 10th, 2012. So, this is a Pre-Order Only at this time. Grab your low number now. Oh yeah, it has 32 Black & White Pages and a Color Cover.
