Tattoo of zodiac

Tattoo of zodiac signs have always been very popular as a lot of people know their star sign and how their characteristics can provide an insight into who they are. So as tattoos are very personal they make an easy choice of tattoo design because once you know your star sign it's easy to find a symbol to represent your zodiac sign.
However, as well as traditional western astrological signs you could also use those from Chinese astrology. The Chinese zodiac follows a 12 year cycle, with each year named after 12 animals. These animals represent twelve different personality types which can be summarized as follows:
Rat (1948,1960, 1972, 1984,1996, 2008)
Disciplined, meticulous, hard-working and ambitious yet honest. Can be manipulative, selfish and prone to spend freely.
Ox (1949,1961, 1973, 1985,1997, 2009)
Bright, patient, dependable calm and inspiring to others. Can be happy in their own company but also stubborn, demanding and materialistic.
Tiger (1950,1962, 1974, 1986,1998, 2010)
Tiger people are passionate, sincere, courageous, candid and sensitive. Can also be seen as aggressive, impatient and quick-tempered.
Rabbit (1951,1963, 1975, 1987,1999, 2011)
Talented, articulate, self-assured and lucky, seeking peace throughout their life. Yet can also be shy, moody, detached and superficial.
Dragon (1952,1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012)
Can be fiery, passionate, strong, self-assured and full of purpose. Can also be tyrannical, demanding and over-bearing.
Snake (1953, 1965, 1977,1989, 2001, 2013)
Wise and intelligent with a tendency towards physical beauty. Vain and high-tempered can also be a loner who is a bad communicator and self-doubting.
Horse (1954, 1966, 1978,1990, 2002, 2014)
Cheerful, quick-witted, open-minded and popular. Often impatient, ostentatious and lack stability and perseverance.
Sheep (1955, 1967, 1979,1991, 2003, 2015)
Elegant, sincere, mild-mannered and creative. Can be moody, timid, indecisive and prefer anonymity.
Monkey (1956, 1968, 1980,1992, 2004, 2016)
Very intelligent, motivated, inquisitive and able to influence people. Enthusiastic achievers yet can also be easily discouraged, vain, selfish and suspicious.
Rooster (1957, 1969, 1981,1993, 2005, 2017)
Pioneers in spirit, they are devoted to their work and quest after knowledge. Can also be abrasive, selfish and eccentric.
There are many legends surrounding how the Chinese zodiac began, one of which is that before leaving the earth, Buddha summoned all the animals of earth but only twelve arrived. So he named a year after them in the order that they had arrived.
Based on the lunisolar calendar Chinese astrology follows the cycle of the moon and the earth's revolution around the sun, as opposed to the Gregorian calendar which starts on January 1. So the start of a new zodiac year is celebrated on Chinese New Year. This means that those born in January or early February should make sure to check when the Chinese New Year begins in the year they were born in order to ensure they find their correct sign.

So as an alternative to traditional tattoo designs of zodiac signs, using the Chinese zodiac provides a great way of getting a fitting personal tattoo which can also be represented with a Chinese symbol. Who knows, you may also learn some interesting aspects about your character.

Don’t make one of the most important decisions of your life an embarrassing mistake. Your choice of tattoo design, which will be permanently inked into your skin, HAS to be one that YOU are comfortable with, one that truly rocks and makes heads turn in awe.

Hawaiian Flower Tattoos

Hawaiian Flower Tattoos
These version of the hawaiian flower tattoos looks very nice sitting on this girls shapely hip. It is a well thought out, well drawn and well executed piece of work done by a very competent artist. And I say that because the flower looks so very realistic. The meaning behind his particular flower is that of soft and delicate beauty. And it should be worn by a young lady full with grace and charm. In the olden days it may have been reserved for daughters of chiefs and the like only.

The Hawaiian flower tattoos have several meaning but all the means are only different when the flower the tattoo features is different. This flower I believe is the hibiscus, typically known as the more tropical flower of the bunch, and that’s where those meanings of beauty and delicacy come from. And we all know there’s nothing wrong with a girl trying to show off her own beauty and radiance. After all, that is what they do with or without tattoos so why not. If a girl can express even more grace and beauty by use of hawaiian flower tattoos then I say go for it.

GOOD LUCK TATTOOS

Good luck tattoos

Tattooing is an art and this has been continuing since earlier ages. Tattoos have always been linked with luck and this is one of the reasons why many people like to get good luck tattoos. There are a lot of symbols that stand for good luck and these are made in the form of tattoos. The sailors started this tradition of getting good luck tattoos. The life of the sailors used to be uncertain as they had to sail through the seas and they got these tattoos so that they can come back home alive. Tattoos like sparrows were very popular in the earlier days.

Tattooing tradition has undergone a change and the styles of the tattoos are being revised and brought forth in a creative and new manner. Vibrant colors are now being used to give a new look to the tattoos. The two images that were popularly used as good luck tattoos were sacred heart and a sparrow. The new versions of the tattoos have a lot of colors and are merged into unique designs. They have a more retro look to them and this is what makes them popular.

Some of the most popular tattoos designs are sparrow. The reason for this is that the birds are spotted near land. Other tattoo designs that is considered lucky is the nautical star tattoo, horseshoe, three 7’s, number 13, good luck amulets and shamrock tattoos. You too can get one of these and flaunt it off your arm or on some other body part.

Tattoo Tuesday V.7

Wow...already the 7th edition of this feature? Awesome! This week I'm super stoked to feature two wonderful, international women! The first is the cutest little lady, all the way from Italy! Please welcome Roberta and her adorable tattoos to my blog. She's a long time reader and a new friend...and such a super sweet lady. Thanks, Roberta, for being a part of this.

Name and blog name: Hey, I am Roberta and this is my blog! http://tattooscute.blogspot.com/
Tattoo/location: Kawaii tattoo left arm

Artist/shop/location: Andrea Becchi Torino (Italy)http://tattooscute.blogspot.com/

1) Tell us about the tattoo you are sharing with us- is there a background story or special meaning? Why did you choose this particular piece of art?

Well, I've always been in love with all things kawaii (which means cute in Japanese) and my world is so full of Kawaii stuff! So I decided to get a tattoo about my love for Kawaii! In this tattoo you can find clouds clouds clouds (i love clouds ^_^), some Tokidoki characters (he is one of my favourite illustrators ever!), a super cute Kokeshi girl made by a great illustrator named Charuca (this is her blog-http://tattooscute.blogspot.com/, there's also a Gloomy bear, a cupcake and of course a BIG HELLO KITTY ^______^

2) Do you have any other tattoos?

Of course! :D I have an anchor on my right arm with a quote from The Goonies (my favorite movie of ALL time) and it's "DOWN HERE IS OUR TIME," then I have a brass knuckle with a quote from a song of my boyfriend's band "I WILL FIGHT FOR LOVE" (and it's dedicated to my love for animals), then I have 2 diamonds on my shoulders with 2 words "VEGAN" "PRIDE" and I have a chest piece with 2 swallows with a sentence "STILL DREAMIN" dedicated to my uncle and grandma who passed away. :(

3) Do you plan on getting more?

Of course!!! I have 1.000 ideas on my mind :D

4) How do your family and friends feel about your tattoo(s)?

Well, my mother says to me that I look like a sailor man! Haha, you know I'm Popeye...haha. and most of my friends have tattoos so they are okay with it.

Have you run into any adversity or negativity because of them?

Of course! In Italy is not easy to have tattoos! People think that if you have tattoos you are a bad person -_-' there's a lot of ignorance unfortunately...so it's very difficult to find a job if you have tattoos. This is something I really don't like about my country!

5) Any advice for those interested in getting tattooed but haven't gotten one yet?

Well, I just want to say to think a lot before getting tattoos. tattoos stay with you FOREVER! If you are happy when you get a tattoo, then you will not regret it! And try to get tattooed by good artists! For me it's better to spend more $$$ and be sure the tattoo will be perfect. ;)

Our second lovely lady is one of my blog friends Gabrielle, all the way from New Zealand! You should definitely go check out her blog. She is such a great gal and I am so stoked to feature her here! Yay Gabrielle!

1) Tell us about the tattoo you are sharing with us- is there a background story or special meaning? Why did you choose this particular piece of art?

For so long I had wanted a bird tattoo. Birds are my favourite animals, I love the way they are free to fly where they choose and how such a small animal is capable of reaching such great heights. So naturally I wanted a bird to be put on display where everyone would be able to see it. I decided to get an Owl because of two reasons, Twin Peaks and The Labyrinth. If you have seen either of these you would understand why!

2) Do you have any other tattoos? If so, what do you have and where?

I have another tattoo on the small of my back; I got it when I was 16 and unfortunately not thinking straight. It is a pretty generic design and I am looking to getting it removed as it does not suit me at all and represents a time in my life that I no longer need to be reminded of.

3) Do you plan on getting more?

Yes! I want to get a lot more! My next project is getting my arm finished. I want a half sleeve, so all the underside tattooed and carry that down to the top of my ribs. I am going to get some roses to blend into the cherry blossoms and then have a girl sitting on an old fashioned stool looking into an old mirror with her dress hanging down. I will probably end up getting more than that because I feel tattoos are absolutely beautiful but for now that is what I am focusing on.

4) How do your family and friends feel about your tattoo(s)? Have you run into any adversity or negativity because of them?

My Mum absolutely loves my tattoo. She has a butterfly on her back. My sisters also love it; my two older sisters have a tattoo. My Dad is quite conservative so we don’t really discuss tattoos with him; also my Nana is like that. She saw my tattoo at Christmas time and was a little upset but we had a talk and she is fine with it, my aunty and uncles all loved it. As for friends, they all know my personality and I think this helps. Some don’t really understand but are still supportive, but majority of people are really positive. I have had a few negative approaches at work (see my blog for a post on one response) but it isn’t something you should get upset about. Your body is your own instrument and you are beautiful when you feel beautiful.

5) Any advice for those interested in getting tattooed but haven't gotten one yet?
As I mentioned when I was 16 my parents were going through a messy separation and it really affected me. This is when I got my tattoo which I will be removing in the near future. Don’t let something like this affect your decision, make sure you are in a clear mind when you take the step and please think about it! Also be confident, when you get one, own it and be proud, don’t let anyone tell you the way you should be.

F**k Yeah, Tattoos!

Don't be fooled by the photos I have chosen to post (I think i have a type), but this tumblr has a HUGE range of tattoos!

Flower Tattoo For Girls

Tattoo artists, and people with tattoos, vary widely in their preferred methods of caring for new tattoos. Some artists recommend keeping a new tattoo wrapped for the first twenty-four hours, while others suggest removing temporary bandaging after two hours or less. Many tattooists advise against allowing too much contact with hot tub or pool water, or soaking in a tub for the first two weeks. This is to prevent the tattoo ink from washing out or fading due to over-hydration and to avoid infection from exposure to bacteria and chlorine. Other artists suggest that a new tattoo be bathed in very hot water early and often.

1700 miles and 4 days later.

Damn.
I left Thursday for Ohio and arrived home Sunday night.
That's a 29 hour round trip road-trip.

Not much sleeping happened, but I did do some tattooing.
Thanks to JR, Mandi, Dustin, FX Tattoos and the entire Ashtabula posse for the warm welcome, the never ending supply of Dr Pepper, the paintings, flash, the ball busting and the fun.

Tanner said he was up for anything.
Jeremy answered the call for an animal with "Buffalo!", so that's what we did.

Dustin had wanted this 'Ode to Being 15' covered up with a big crow.
I sketched on his arm for a little while, ran through a few ideas, and we settled on this.
He said it was his longest tattoo sit ever.
It was certainly the most amount of ink caps he's ever seen used.
I even made him come in early to get it done.
Cockcrow in Ohio.

Here's Mr. JR Tubbs under his trophy from the once finished, now in limbo dreaded Antler Crutch War of 2008ish.
He's building an army out there, smoking cigarettes and armed with watercolors and dremel tools.
Right on.
(except for the smoking)

It's good to change up the scenery every so often.
Go to a different state, time zone and climate.
A different way of doing things, talking with clients, drawing, and doing art.
29 hours on the road is a lot of time to think.

It'll be a busy week.
The dudes shirts are being made.
More stickers.
Tattoos, mail art, painting, sending out the orders for the girls shirts and more.
And very little driving.
