Vasco's BATMAN THE ANIMATED SERIES Birthday Cake Photos!

Yesterday we received a very excellent email from a friend in Sao Paulo, Brazil. His name is Vasco and last week he had a birthday ( Happy Belated-Birthday Vasco! ). The cool thing is his Mother in Law, a lady named Iara, made him this extremely elaborate BATMAN THE ANIMATED SERIES Birthday Cake with a neat Treat Display too. It's very cool and she did a great job on it! Thanks for sharing your fun photos Vasco. Please tell Iara she needs to do my next party, ha ha!

Happy Birthday Christian Bale!

According to our Bat-Blog History Files today is a very special day! Christian Charles Philip Bale was born on January 30th, 1974. He was raised in England & had his 1st film role at the age of 13. He was in Steven Spielberg's 1987 movie, Empire of The Sun. He played a lost English Boy who, separated from his Parents, grew-up in a Japanese Internment Camp during World War II. Later, he had one of his 1st most iconic roles playing the Serial Killer Patrick Bateman in the 2000 movie, American Psycho! Then, of course, starting with Christopher Nolan's 2005 BATMAN BEGINS, he has been the most recent Actor to play Bruce Wayne/Batman. We all look forward to seeing him in THE DARK KNIGHT RISES! Happy Birthday Christian Bale!! Oh yeah, I've posted a few "Dreamy Hunk" Wallpapers... for the Ladies to drool over!

Actor JIM CARREY Was Born Today in 1962!

According to my Bat-History Files today is Actor JIM CARREY's Birthday. He was born in 1962 and will always have a place in Batman lore as the Actor who played THE RIDDLER in the 1995 BATMAN FOREVER Movie. Shown up above are just a small example of products bearing his image. This was the film that starred Val Kilmer as the Dark Knight and I fondly remember thinking that Jim Carrey did a really decent job of portraying the "Prince of Puzzles". He had just the right amount of crazy zaniness, just check out the video down below. HAPPY BIRTHDAY JIM CARREY!!

TODAY IN BAT-HISTORY It's Barbara Rush's Birthday!

The BAT-BLOG.COM would like to extend the happiest of "Happy Birthday" Greetings to Barbara Rush! She was born today on January 4th, 1927. Serious TV Fans of the 1966 BATMAN Series will know her as "Nora Clavicle", the Feminist Evil Super-Villain! That character is famous for putting Batman, Batgirl, and Robin in a trap called the "Siamese Human Knot". Will they ever escape?! For highlights of that check out the video clip down below:

BATMAN THEME BIRTHDAY CAKE For January...PARTY ON!!

OK, I know I just did a post about a very cool "Batman Wedding Cake", and I don't mean for today to be "Cake Day" here at the Bat-Blog ( ha ha ), but since it's the 1st of January I wanted to post a fun BATMAN Birthday Cake photo to celebrate all the birthdays of Bat-Blog Readers for the month of January. So, if you have a birthday this month, we want to wish you a very special ...HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

CRAZY COOL BATMAN CAKES - Wedding AND Birthday!!

We totally love it when Bat-Blog Fans share their personal photos that show how they completely love the Batman character. To me, that's what this site is all about! So, here we go! The 1st two pics are from our friend Christopher's Wedding. Yes, a Wedding Cake with Batman & Batgirl Toy Figures as the toppers... How cool is that?! This cake is beautiful.

Then, here's a wonderful photo taken by our friend Autumn right after finishing her Bat-Cake. This was a Birthday Cake for an extremely lucky person. Plus, I think she did an amazing job on it, the logo looks awesome! ( Thanks to everyone who shared pics )

Kevin's BATMAN LOGO & BAT-CYCLE Birthday Cakes!!

Check out this really fun photo from our friend Kevin. For his birthday this year he had, not one, but two Batman Birthday Cakes, YES! The top one has a very cool Toy Figure of the Caped Crusader on his Bat-Cycle. The next one, obviously ( ha! ), is the famous "Yellow" Bat-Logo! Thanks for sharing your photo Kevin and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

A straight up birthday shoutout!

Maynard House's Miss Briggs got a little older today.
As far as people go, she's one of the best.
There haven't been too many people that I've met,
and immediately liked so much.
(and even fewer that liked me back!)
I hope she had an awesome day,
but knowing her girlfriend Jaime,
I'm sure it was dope.

I recently got some healed photos of her arm and chestpiece.
I have no idea why I didn't have these before,
but I have them now!
Happy Birthday Amy!
Thank you for your friendship, hospitality,
inspiration (and tax help).
xxoo.

Dirty Thirty.

I turned the big Thirty yesterday,
and to celebrate a very adult-sounding milestone,
my friends and I brought the thunder.
The most immature,
embarrassing,
and self-destructive thunder there is.

First I got busy doing a "Goonies" chestpiece for the Cucch,
who came back to town for this week of bikeriding vacation time.
While that was happening,
Meryl and Rebecca and Adam M crowned me the Birthday Princess (again),
and decorated the shop,
and even my car.
They had made vegan cake the day before,
and it was a super nice birthday workday.

After work,
12 of us headed to T's Place for a birthday dinner for some,
and a terrible idea eating challenge for the rest of us.
The competition was to see who could eat an entire 2-person veggie combo plate by themselves,
(never before attempted)
and under 30 minutes.
You weren't required to eat the extra basket of injera,
but you had to wear the pink birthday bib.

Adam M did that first in under 11 minutes,
but he soon realized that the Cucch and I were upping the stakes silently (and disgustingly) as we went.
So he took the initial win,
but then threw in the towel while we attacked everything in sight.
The Cucch finished everything,
including the entire extra injera basket,
all within 16 minutes of starting.
I followed a stomach-busting minute later.

We then found out that I was to be given a free birthday mango juice,
so the Cucch and Adam also ordered some,
and we raced those down, too.
And since it was only 10:15pm at that point,
and we hadn't had vegan ice cream since the day before,
(and were not yet vomiting)
everyone drove to St Paul for Izzy's.

Thanks to everyone who rocked out so hard.
I have the best friends around.

the almost 30

I turned 29 today.
I know some people like to take their special day off of work,
and do something fun.
I just get pretty picky on what (and who) I'll tattoo on my birthday.
Last year, I didn't tattoo much at all,
and just handed out cupcakes all day.
But this year,
I had two different rad tattoos to do,
and I even ended up working late.

I also took over as DJ at Identity Tattoo,
and played lots of Dark Dark Dark, the Black Keys, and Lady Gaga.
Thanks to Todd and Ben for being so accommodating!

No cupcakes this year,
but Meryl made some banging vegan cookies
that I brought into share with Ben (and everyone).
haha.

First, I did this Obi-Wan Kenobi portrait.
It's butted up against the Boba Fett I did way back in September,
and it looks like we'll be adding in a couple more Star Wars portraits soon.
I used a new greywash ink, and my new rotary tattoo machine,
and had a blast.

Then, Mr Mikey Shoes came in to get a
(slightly more my style) chest birdhouse.
Meryl came to pick me up and got a few photos of the in-progress action,
and I was able to put two of them together in a really simple GIF animation,
but I don't know how to post it anywhere other than my Tumblr site.

Anyway, thanks to all the birthday wishes,
and to everyone who sang along or shared a cookie today.
And a big thank you to Todd for having such a fun place to work.
