DC Direct just announced a set of three brand-new 1:12 scale statues to be released BEFORE "The Dark Knight Rises" Batman Movie comes out on July 20th, 2012. They're all sculpted by Artist David Cortes. Of course the 3 characters will be Batman, Catwoman, and Bane. They are all full-figure pieces with a base or small piece of Gotham City. Oh yeah, duh, the Release date will be July 4th. An easy date for some of us Americans to remember because it's Independence Day, the birth of our nation ( Is Nolan going all "political on us" in this 3rd film? ). The Retail Price will be about 80 bucks, each.
Here's a quick post to share news about 2 brand-new pieces of THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Batman Movie Merchandise that will be out later this year. The 1st item is a Bioworld WALLET with TDKR Movie Poster image on it, the crumbling bat-logo ( Available in July 2012 ). Next, is a pair of BANE SNEAKERS by Converse. You know they will probably be making Batman & Catwoman ones too. These will be sold at Journey's, also around July. ( Thanks Alex for telling us about the Shoes ).

BANE ATTACK!! I knew it wouldn't be long till the "Batman Merchandising Machine" would start going crazy with BANE items! Yes, they're gonna try to capitalize on the character's popularity because of THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Movie. But what's cool in the recent sudden burst of Bane T-Shirts I've seen they all feature the "Comic Book Version" of BANE! But don't worry, I'm sure there will also be a ton of "Tom Hardy" related-items too. I'm also pretty sure that CATWOMAN is gonna be next and even bigger, MEOW! With a Release Date of June 27th, 2012 the MEZCO TOY Company will be coming out with some cool Mez-Itz Vinyl Figures of THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Batman movie. It looks like they'll make New Batman, Bane, and Catwoman Toys! They will also be re-releasing the Bat-Pod Motorcycle and the Tumbler Batmobile (Camouflage Version). It's also important to note that there will be two different sizes of figures: 2-Inch and 6-inch. The vehicles are scaled for the smaller figures. Here are some prototype graphics to give you an idea. As soon as actual product photos are released then you'll see them first right here at the BAT-BLOG.COM. So, please stay tuned! Funko has released some promo images of some of the cool products they're going to be coming out with in 2012 for THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Batman movie. I love their toys so this is great news! First there are a few "Wacky Wobblers", or Bobble-Head Nodders, of BATMAN and BANE. Don't worry, they will probably make a CATWOMAN too. Then, they have done those 3 characters as POP HEROES Vinyl Figures. The last photo shows an ultra-cute BATMAN Plush Doll... AWESOME! I'm sure this company will come out with even more stuff so stay tuned to the BAT-BLOG.COM
Over at the IDLE HANDS website they recently got their hands on some top-secret promotional material for a few of the brand-new BATMAN: THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Movie Statues and Busts that will be coming out later this year. They appear to be coming out around June/July of 2012.
First, there's a Set of 3 ICON 12" Full-Figure Statues of Batman, Bane, and Catwoman. Then, there are 3 Busts featuring the same characters. The busts will actually come out one month earlier, in June. One cool thing about these photos is we get a better look at Anne Hathaway's CATWOMAN Costume, the Cat-Suit! Check out the Metallic Heels on those Boots. They look like they can do some serious damage!

Wow! HOT TOYS is getting a lot of news lately! They just announced they will be making a BANE Figure in their line of BATMAN: THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Movie Figures. No surprise there, ha! But here's the "teaser image" they gave us... with no face! But, knowing them it will be awesome.
Check out this awesome graphic art sent in by our buddy, Artist Sean Hartter. It's made from photos of characters from THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Batman movie and they have been photo-manipulated to look like old vintage newsprint. Then, the DKR Bat-Logo has Japanese lettering. Sean said he has a friend who speaks perfect Japanese translate the word "The Dark Knight Rises" so it's all accurate. That's cool & a very nice detail! But anyways, I took this and made it into some BAT-BLOG.COM Promo Art. Yeah, I know, as Robin the Boy Wonder would say, "Holy Shameless Self-Promotion, Batman!" But as a Blogger I have to constantly hype my site or no new people find it, ha! OK, This post is filled with funny BATMAN pictures that are meant to brighten your day with a little humor. We hope it works, ha ha! The 1st picture showing Curley ( The Three Stooges ) as BANE was done by our friend Sean Hartter. The others sort of explain themselves. As a side-note: I really really want that Batmobile Car Bed! Also, that last photo is NOT me, I swear, ha!
OK, I have not gone to the book store yet to totally confirm it but the latest issue of ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY Magazine with THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Batman Movie Cover Story is suppose to be out today. If not, then look for it very soon. The cover has an excellent photo of the new bat-suit worn by Christian Bale. There are also a few pics inside that are great. The ones I've seen mainly feature Batman, Bane, and Jim Gordon, with NO Catwoman.
OK, I wish I would have come up with this idea. There are a ton of websites that present brand-new movie trailers but there is only one that has taken a very unique spin on it. They're called TRAILER CATS! They take regular trailers and spice them up a little bit, ha! Here's one for THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Batman movie. The only thing that confuses me is why they made CATWOMAN ( Anne Hathaway ) a Dog?! But it's pretty funny, check it out!
Hey Kiddos, it's Wednesday. You know what that means, it's "Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday"! Yes, it's time once again to post some Free BATMAN Wallpapers. Since there really hasn't been any hype lately from Warner Bros about THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Movie I thought I'd post a few inspired by the film. I gotta say, it's been pretty hard finding decent photos of Catwoman ( Anne Hathaway is still hiding, ha! ) so I guess the focus will be on the BATMAN and BANE characters. Here we go!
Here are a few examples of artwork have have been inspired by the next Batman movie, THE DARK KNIGHT RISES. The film won't be released for another 205 Days, 8 Hours, and 42 Minutes but some people just can't wait, ha! The 1st two images were created by our Buddy Sean Hartter. He likes to create these parody vintage movie posters that ask, "What If?". Like, What if TDKR was produced in another time period? So, he created this parody movie poster. I like the idea of Kelly LeBrock being Catwoman ( what ever happened to her? ). Then, check out the next graphic, Sean drew this great portrait of BANE in his own crude minimal style ( the colors are awesome ).
Next up, is another parody but on a whole other level. This was created by our Friend "Bacon" and is a combination of the classic horror film, "Night of The Living Dead". Batman is a Zombie in a Graveyard! Oh, by the way, this image is presented here as a WALLPAPER BACKGROUND so please be sure to enjoy it in that way.
