Pete's Custom MICHAEL KEATON BATMAN STATUE BUST Update
Awhile back, here at the BAT-BLOG.COM, we featured a few photos of the work of some very creative people who have been inspired by Batman. One Artist was a guy named Pete & this photo was recently sent in to us. It's his Custom BATMAN BUST Statue, "Michael keaton" version. The previous photo showed the piece in an early stage of creation. Well, this pic was taken after it was all painted! My favorite part, and I know this is kinda dumb on my part, is the "Bat-Belt" design at the base. I don't know, that's kinda clever. But overall it's a great piece. So, have YOU done any drawing, painting, or any other creative endeavor? HEY! Shoot us some pics & send them in! ( Thanks Pete, Good Job on this Art! )
New BATMAN ARKHAM CITY T-Shirts at TFAW
While surfing through the TFAW website the other night, to see what brand-new Batman products there are out there, I came across these really cool BATMAN: ARKHAM CITY T-Shirts. Of course they feature graphics from the video game. Three of them focus on the logo or other generic graphic art, while the others all feature Bat-Villains like Harley Quinn & Two-Face. Now, there are no Joker shirts right now, but you know there will be, ha! For more information CLICK HERE!
CATWOMAN Bat-Pod and HARLEY QUINN Arkham City - Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday!
For this week's "Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday" I thought I would celebrate 2 of the sexiest batman Villains out there, Catwoman & Harley Quinn! Also, the 1st one sort of celebrates "THE DARK KNIGHT RISES" Movie because we all know that Selina Kyle ( Anne Hathaway's character ) is going to be stealing the Bat-Pod in one part of the film. Second, the Harley Quinn image is from the new BATMAN: ARKHAM CITY Video Game that comes out towards the end of 2011.
Brand New Skin
When J.L. was 2 years old,
she got hot grease spilled onto her chest,
and it scarred up pretty seriously.
28 years later she decided to get the spot tattooed,
and in two sessions we put some waves there.
Not to hide them, per se,
but instead to put something there she'd rather see
when she looked in the mirror.
The scar tissue was really varied in thickness and texture,
(notice the shininess in spots)
and some areas gave me a lot of trouble.
This photo is not long after the second session,
so some of the waves are fully healed,
while the bottom and ones on the left are fresh
(and thus darker right now).
It was a really interesting project,
and I'm happy with how it turned out.
(and the little bit of tie-in to the swirly tattoo on the right)
I don't usually tattoo over burn scars due to their inconsistent nature,
but this worked out well.
Thanks to J.L. for her patience and trust.

Vintage Wacky 1960's Japanese BATMAN AND ROBIN Tin Toy Jeep!
You know we love us some cool Vintage 60's BATMAN Toys, especially the ones from Japan! Here's a great example of the crazy wacky kind of stuff made for the Japanese foreign market. No, it's not a Batmobile car. This is a Tin Toy JEEP with a Batman and Robin design, and it has awesome bat-graphics all over it, POW!
Funny BATMAN Humor Photos & Comic Strip
I thought that our friends on the east coast could use a little humor after what they have been getting from Hurricane Irene. I know things are still messed-up but we want you all to know that we're thinking about you & hope things are starting to get better. I'd also like to ask my readers to please DONATE to the AMERICAN RED CROSS. They do great work & every single dollar helps, Thanks.

Backhanded Birthdays
Now-Slightly-Less Handsome Adam got his right hand tattooed today.
Nothing like pain and swelling to celebrate getting older.
Though, if you've ever seen Adam getting tattooed or lazered,
you'd know he takes it like the toughest of badasses.
He doesn't seem to care at all.
We had a HoneyHoney sing along during the session,
and listened to both their albums.
Twice.
Today was only half of a birthday gift.
Next week we'll do the other hand,
and it'll look something like this stencil/marker mess we made today.
One at a time, though.

The JUNIOR BATSQUAD Strikes Back!!
The JUNIOR BATSQUAD is a group of Kids living in New Jersey who are all total Batman Fans, they're AWESOME! Well, these photos are from a recent field trip where they got to visit a Super BATMAN Toy Collector who has a ton of cool collectibles. While there they goofed around & took these fun pics for the Bat-Blog.
In the 1st one they holding up an extremely RARE Autographed Framed Photo of Lewis Wilson as BATMAN, from the 1943 Serial Movies. I guess you could say he was the very 1st Batman Actor! Sadly, he died in 2000 at the golden age of 80. It's an extremely cool photo.
Next, the Kids are playing with a 1967 BATMAN Movie Prop. Actually, it's a Replica of the BOMB made famous by Adam West. I love the pose of the Boy holding it, just like West in the film, hilarious!!

The 1st DARK KNIGHT RISES Batman Movie Tattoo - Tom Hardy as BANE
A friend of mine sent me this photo he randomly came across in a Message Board on the Internet. I couldn't believe it, somebody went & got themselves a "BANE" Tattoo! Yes, this image is the "Actor Tom Hardy" version. Now, the artwork is decent & the Tattoo is pretty nice, but what if the movie sucks? I remember a year or two ago when we were covering the last Batman movie pretty hard. The same thing happened then. Before THE DARK KNIGHT movie was released, even while it was still being filmed, a lot of people went out & got JOKER TATTOOS based on publicity photos. I had the same fears then but once the movie came out everything was cool because Heath Ledger gave an amazing performance & the Joker character ( and movie ) was actually great, whew! Let's hope these "Bane Tattoo" people have the same luck.
Baby Portfolios of Cuteness
This is the 500th post.
Which normally would be an accomplishment to be proud of,
but I'm friends with Albie Rock, kids,
and he's way ahead.
Like 800 posts ahead.
And he started after me, too,
at the less-than-gentle prodding of yours truly.
(really, i just started it for him one day)
And since there's no catching up,
500 is just a minor milestone along the way.
But anyway,
since I'm heading to Oregon to work at GogueArt for 3 months,
and having to build a mostly new clientele out there,
I decided to make up these mini portfolios sans shop info.
Just links to where I live in the online world,
my website, this blog, tumblr, etc.
That little thing on the front is a qr code for all your robotphones,
and sends you directly to shawnhebrank.com when scanned.
For some reason I didn't take a photo of the backside
(and that's always the best part, right?)
The idea came from my Japan trip a year and a half ago.
There was a shop there called Cat's Claw that gave away printed portfolios,
and a restaurant that had a mini accordion style menu.
You combine those two ideas,
and ask the awesome Robyn Seguin for her graphic/layout expertise,
and this happens.
You need some printed material, too?
Email her: seguin.robyn@gmail.com
She has a lot of skills with this type of thing,
she just doesn't tell anyone.

Party Hopping
Meryl and I flew to Colorado for her sister Nicole's wedding,
but it was a super quick less-than-3-day visit.
Fly in, drive, rehearsal dinner, drive, bed.
wake up, drive, wedding, drive, bed.
wake up, drive, hike, fly home,
(and then do a birthday dinner for handsome adam!)
Here's us post-vows with our nephew Sia:
We went hiking at Brainard Lake near Boulder.
Meryl took this photo,
and others just as sexy here.
It's pretty unreal out there.
Once we landed in MPLS,
we still had a birthday dinner to attend.
Identity's Handsome Adam had his golden birthday,
27 on the 27th!
We ate too much blops at T's Place,
since that's tradition now.
We had lots of mango juice, too, of course.
And then,
since shots on your birthday is part of T's tradition,
we had some birthday mango shots.
Just look at me.
That's a dude who doesn't know what state he's in.
Or maybe just poorly adjusting to normal altitude.
Ruining Adam's bday photos wasn't my only birthday gift to him.
Tomorrow I'm going to ruin his future, too!
How?
Hand tattoos.
Well, just one tomorrow.
(only a-holes get both their hands done in one day)
And then with that comes some big nickname changes.
"Handsome Adam" will also be known as:
"Don't Date My Daughter Adam",
"We're Following You Around the Store Because You Look Sketchy Adam",
and my favorite,
"What Does Your Mother Think About That Adam".
Yup.
27 and all grown up.
Happy Weddings and Happy Birthdays.
You throw the party,
and we'll be there.
